Somebody saw me. Finally, somebody saw me. Well. I’m sure a lot of people saw me but none of them stopped. Until the stars aligned and an ADORE team member of all people saw me. And she stopped. Because that’s what they do. I was struck by a car a couple of months ago and was just lying in the weeds on the side of the feeder watching cars pass. I tried to catch somebody’s eye but most people were too busy to even notice just another stray dog like me. Or if they did, they averted their eyes. But I’m not just another stray dog. My name is Theresa. I had a fractured pelvis on one side and on the other, my hip was out of joint and the cap of it was cracked. The doctor couldn’t even fathom how I managed to hobble on the leg that was out of joint. But when the lady with ADORE went to get a blanket out of the car I thought she was leaving me and so I got up and tried to limp after her. She turned around and saw me and swooped me up in her arms. I gave her kisses all over her face to say thank you.
I had my surgery and heartworm treatment, and now I’m a brand new dog! I’m fully healed and ready for my new home!! The vet said that I’ll have a funny walk, but that doesn’t hold me back from running and playing.
I haven’t been around kids but I’m super excited to see new people so I think (with some manners training), I’ll be great with kids. I’m currently at a boarding facility where the staff there loves me to death! You won’t regret sending in your adoption or foster application for me! They can be found on the ADORE website www.adorehouston.org
I am spayed, up to date on shots, microchipped, and completed my heartworm treatment already!

foster a dog:
Our fosters do something remarkable:
They take in a rescue animal who may have
never experienced love, care and security before
and help that pet get ready
for his or her forever home.
